Opening Day 2008

The Brewers got a big win, though in an entirely different way than last year. After two games I noted this last season:

This time I have different emotions. I am way less confident in our bullpen, and even less confident in our manager's ability to handle our bullpen than I was a year ago. It would be great to get off to a fast start again, but man, Gange looked like he was throwing batting practice to Fukudome. Go Brewers.

Bullpen, shmull-pen. With Fielder and Braun batting back-to-back for a whole season we are planning on putting up a 10 spot every game. No bullpen needed then!

So I have been listening to the games online (I love the fact that I can live in Costa Rica and listen to Brewers Baseball), but we look good. Gange scares me, I wish we would have resigned Cordero but instead he hand him off to an in division opponent (the Reds). Back to Gange though he just seems to be unable to close out a game. Man am I worried about that. I think we may be needing to switch Gange to the set up man and move Turnbow to closer. I am however not as worried about Yost managing the bullpen it may not be great but Yost is a good manager that knows what he can get out his team. This is going to be a good year, I think we could even win the division. Go Crew!
