yuck

So it seems my skills for picking games has come into question lately, and quite frankly I am bitter about it. 2007 has destroyed any credibility I had in the sports world. Outside of the Badgers barely beating Arkansas, and Boise State taking OU, and the Pats knocking off the Cahrgers, I believe I have missed every other pick. This makes me like a collective 3-12 or something. The three were nice, but the twelve were awful. For the record the Bears are still awful as long as I am concerned. Their defense is other-worldly, but man are they bad on offense. If there are three major parts to every football game, offense, defense and special teams, and you have the worst of one of these three (offense), how good do the other two have to be? With this in mind, I would not get to excited if I were a Colts fan. First, your defense has been playing better, although you did give up 34 points yesterday, second, every time the Pats caught a kickoff it looked like they might score which means Hester is probably school girl, giddy, right about now imagining his Super Bowl MVP trophy (ala Desmond Howard), and third, this defense is really good (like the Ravens who held you to 15 points good). All of this to say that even with all my hatred for the Bears (they rank between 4-6 on my hate scale, depending on the year) I may still have to pull for the NFC North in XLI. If the Bears win, the Packers will have thoroughly dominated the Super Bowl champs, which is nice, and if they lose, then a long time foe will be humiliated in front of the whole world. I guess what I am saying is that the winner of this year's Super Bowl is: Me.
