Facebook

As per usual I am no doubt one of the last people my age to learn about this thing. I had heard something about it in a Newsweek last year, but never followed up. Facebook is sort of like an interactive, online year book, complete with friends, rivals and and just plain wierdness. The wierdness is particularly hard to name, but I think it stems from the illusion of connection. It allows you to get updated and connect with a person, but not actually meet them. This is not Facebook's fault, they do the best they can with what they have. Maybe its just a personal problem for me, but "seeing" all my friends again has made me nostalgic Whit 1, the Pilgrim and Hildebrand chapel, all things I thought may be impossible. Perhaps this is what sentimentality is always like, promising but not quite delivering. Maybe I will ask someone who feels it more frequently than I do.
