In a great new book by Alan J. Roxburgh and M. Scott Boren there is this great idictment of the church in the West:
We are not focussed on Gods mission but on how God meets our needs. Jesus a packaged choice in the spiritual food court. We have a debased, compromised, sterilized Christianity. The biblical narratives revolve around God's mission in, through, and for the sake of the world. The focus is towards God.
