Running Diary of Man Weekend (cont.)
7:15am Rise and freakin’ shine. I am barely out of bed and am dragging already. They boys are in a good mood and are looking forward to a fun day.
7:45am The new favorite cereal in our house is Honey Comb. For some reason Josh and Calvin love it, and they love it with milk, which is a big win. This is about the time I start to wonder about my schedule and whether it is do-able, I have a meeting from 10am-2pm (I only plan on attending for about an hour, maybe an hour and a half), I promised the kids a movie today (probably Meet the Robinsons) and I have to finish my sermon (which I am still feeling ok about) and then tonight at 9:30 I have to preach the sermon I have to write shortly. I should probably stop blogging for a bit.
9:15am We left for my meeting and to swing by Wal-Mart for batteries to be used in Josh’s toy.
9:35am We just ran full speed down a hill and Calvin almost killed himself. It was hilarious, he literally outran his body. Also Josh’s new toy is really pretty sweet.
10:15am The meeting is just now starting, it’s a meeting of youth pastors, so I suppose that is to be expected.
11:38am We left my meeting, finally, so we could get to Meet The Robinsons on time. Josh packed us sandwiches, which were quite tasty. The movie on the other hand was blatant technological and Disney propaganda. Very disappointing as far as I was concerned.
1:30pm Just got home from the movies in time to catch about the third inning on of the Brewers game. A couple of observations, in this game the Dodgers played two players who were traded from the Brewers, because they couldn’t make the Brewers roster. One of them started (Brady Clark) and the other was one of the first relievers they called on (Hendrickson). My point is this, the Brewers are really good. They are not going to score 7 runs every game, and they are not going to hold the other team to 2 hits a game, but in terms of talent they are better than every Brewers team since I was in grade school. That we can trade two players to a team everyone thinks could win their division (the Dodgers) and those players not only make the opening day roster, but one starts and the other plays, and neither of them could make our roster is incredibly exciting to me. Man I hope nobody blows a rotator cuff.
3:28pm In a game that lasted only 2 hours and 11 minutes (thank you Ben Sheets) the Brewers got a win and I almost finished my sermon for tonight.
3:43pm Josh and Calvin have their first outdoor swim of the new year. When asked how the water was, Calvin replied, “A little warm.”
5:19pm The sermon is written, now I just have to run through it a few times and cut some stuff.
6:40pm Nearing bed-time and the start of the national championship game. I am not convinced anyone can beat
